This options allows to InheritFiniteElementDegrees from the coarser mesh if a grid (or ) refinement strategy is used. This is feature is only of relevance if the FiniteElementDegree is controlled via the Precision as in this case the polynomial degree might be reduced with mesh refinements (while keeping the estimated propagation error below the user’s Precision setting). In cases where this reduction is not desired, this option can be activated.
