BlankGeometry

Type:section
Appearance:simple

This section is used to specify the stratification of the glass blank as well as a geometric misalignment caused by a deviation of the plane where the blank is placed from the optical system’s object plane. See parent section Illumination for the role of the glass blank in the illumination setup.

The situation is as depicted in Figure “Blank geometry”.

Blank geometry

The user’s blank plane is shown in light blue. It is equipped with coordinates (x_\mathrm{b}, y_\mathrm{b}, z_\mathrm{b}). The blank plane is tilted and translated (yellow vector) with respect to the optical system’s object plane. The rotation and translation are set by the parameters Rotation and Center respectively.

In the simplest case the mask blank consists of a single material (glass). However, it is also possible to use a stratified medium as for example required for reflective masks. For details see section Stratification.
